Tariq Khan – Candidate for Calgary City Councillor, Ward 5
A long-time resident of Ward 5, Tariq Khan has been serving the community for nearly three decades — as a business owner, community leader, and dedicated volunteer. He is the founder of CalEstate Realty and has helped hundreds of families establish themselves across northeast Calgary.

Tariq raised his family in Ward 5, with his children attending Martin Crossing School, Saddle Ridge School, and Peter Lougheed School. He understands the real-life challenges faced by residents — from rising costs to safety concerns — because he’s lived them, side by side with his neighbors.

As the former President of the Canada Maple Foundation, Tariq has led countless community initiatives, multicultural events, and charity programs that uplift youth, seniors, and vulnerable families. He is known as a bridge-builder who works across cultures and communities to solve real problems with practical solutions.
